Mina (pseudonym) is a teenage student at CFI’s Learning Center who was known for being quiet and shy. Although she performed well academically, she rarely participated in group activities such as football, volleyball, badminton, or singing. She preferred to stay quiet in class and usually spent time with two or three friends who were similarly reserved.
A positive change began during CFI’s Fun Season, when students had the opportunity to explore different activities and develop new skills. Mina chose to join an activity focused on learning English songs, marking an encouraging step for someone who had previously been reluctant to participate in group activities.
During the sessions, Mina showed strong concentration and an impressive ability to learn. She quickly picked up melodies, memorized lyrics, and learned to sing the songs beautifully alongside her friends. Her lovely voice and natural talent began to stand out. Although she still sang softly and had not yet fully developed the confidence to sing loudly, her willingness to participate was a meaningful step forward.”
Mina’s experience shows how providing children with opportunities to explore their interests can encourage personal growth. By choosing an activity she enjoyed, she found a comfortable space to participate, express herself, and discover her abilities.
Her journey is still ongoing, but her progress reminds us that building confidence takes time and encouragement. With continued support and opportunities at CFI’s Learning Center, Mina can continue developing her talents, becoming more comfortable expressing herself, and building stronger connections with others.
